The Henry Ford invites visitors to take a drive through the life and achievements of Lyn St. James — celebrated race car driver, first woman to win the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award and founder of the Women in the Winner’s Circle Foundation, mentoring hundreds of female drivers.
St. James is a showcased driver and adviser to our new permanent exhibit, Driven to Win: Racing in America Presented by General Motors, opening March 27. Several related artifacts are featured in this exhibit, including her helmet, driving suit and Rookie of the Year trophy.
